At Arrowsmith Animal Hospital, our goal is to provide the highest quality medical care for your animal and to ensure that important details from our conversations are accurately captured. To support this, we may make audio recordings of discussions that take place in the exam room.

Why do we record?

  • Audio recordings help us create more complete and accurate medical records.

  • They allow our veterinary team to review details of your animal’s history, treatment plan, and follow-up care.

  • This supports continuity of care, especially when multiple veterinarians or team members are involved.

How are recordings used?

  • Recordings are used only for internal medical record-keeping purposes.

  • They are never shared, sold, or used for marketing.

  • Access is limited to veterinary team members directly involved in your animal’s care.

How are recordings stored?

  • Recordings are treated as part of your animal’s confidential medical record.

  • They are stored on a secure server with restricted access.

  • Recordings are retained in accordance with veterinary medical record requirements and securely deleted when no longer needed.

Your choice matters

We respect your privacy. If you prefer not to have conversations in the exam room recorded, please let our front desk team know before your appointment. We are happy to accommodate your wishes and will continue to provide the same high standard of care without recording.
